In Rio de Janeiro, two stylish friends recently showed national pride with painted-on half-gloves in yellow and blue while modeling printed shirts by local brand Svetlana. In a nod to Morocco's tradition of henna, Franco-Spanish actress Astrid Bergès-Frisbey recently turned her hand into an oversize Hamsa—the symbolic amulet of protection against the evil eye—while visiting the country, then posted it on Instagram, the message transcending language. British model Jourdan Dunn took a cheekier approach, sketching the likeness of a face across her knuckles and posting it with a caption that read—what else?—“Talk to the hands.”
